| Someone help find this guy's pet raccoon! |
Rallying in my former stomping grounds in Jeju Island’s south, before the northward island hopping begins anew.
May 12 – Seogwipo
-Two Black Paradise Flycatchers above the falls
-Ashy Minivets heard over the harbour
-Black-crowned Night Herons heard calling at dusk, no doubt disturbed by the deafening K-pop/laser/water jet show at the bridge
May 13 – Seogwipo
-Only a Tristram’s Bunting on Saesom at dawn
-Possible Black Wood Pigeon near Oedolgae
-Three White-backed Woodpeckers (the Jeju subspecies) above the falls
-Pacific Reef Egret near the bridge
May 14 – Hogeun, Jungmun, and Yerae
-Ashy Minivets heard in Hogeun
-Much of the old productive habitat around the peripheries of Jungmun resort is gone – several Black-browed Reed Warbler and Bull-headed Shrike in a small remaining stand of bamboo
-Garganey and Wood Sandpiper seen and Northern Hawk Cuckoo heard and glimpsed in Yerae
